  • What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session is about getting to know you—what’s bringing you to therapy, your goals, and what you’d like to get out of our time together. It’s a no-pressure space where we’ll start exploring how I can best support you.

What kind of therapy do you offer?

I take a relational, client-centered approach, incorporating techniques from:
Internal Family Systems (IFS) & Parts Work
    Radical Acceptance & Strength-Based Therapy
    Cognitive & Emotional Coping Skills

My style is engaged, warm, and interactive—you won’t just be talking into the void!

How often should I come to therapy?

That depends on your needs. Some people prefer weekly sessions, while others benefit from biweekly or monthly check-ins. We’ll work together to figure out what’s best for you.

How long will I need therapy?

Therapy is different for everyone—some people come for a few months to work on a specific issue, while others find long-term support helpful. You’re in control of your process, and we’ll check in regularly to see what’s working.

  • Is online therapy effective?

Yes! Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for many concerns. It also makes therapy more convenient and accessible—no commute, no waiting rooms, just support from the comfort of your own space.

What do I need for online therapy?

To have a smooth online session, you’ll need:
✔ A private, quiet space where you feel comfortable talking
    ✔ A strong internet connection
✔ A computer, tablet, or phone with a camera and microphone
✔ (Optional) Headphones for better sound and privacy

    Do you record sessions?

No. All video sessions are live, secure, and HIPAA-compliant—nothing is recorded.

  • How much does therapy cost?

    • 55-minute session: $130

    • 45-minute session: $110

    • 30-minute session: $75

    Do you take insurance?

I do not accept private insurance at this time. However, I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Check with your insurance provider to see if they offer this option.

How do I pay for sessions?

Payment is due at the time of your session. I accept:
    ✔ Debit/Credit Cards
    ✔ HSA/FSA Cards

    What is your cancellation policy?

I require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. If you cancel late or no-show, you will be charged the full session fee. I waive one late cancellation/no-show fee per year.

  • Will I receive a mental health diagnosis?

A diagnosis is only provided upon request after discussion. I don’t diagnose lightly—labels can be helpful for some but unnecessary for others.

Can you provide documentation for work/school?

If needed, I can provide basic letters for therapy attendance. However, I do not provide evaluations for disability claims, legal cases, or workplace accommodations.

  • A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes all the information your insurance company needs to reimburse you for therapy sessions. While I do not accept insurance, I can provide a superbill so you can submit it to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

    How Does It Work?

    1. You pay for your session at the time of your appointment.

    2. I provide you with a superbill (typically at the end of the month).

    3. You submit the superbill to your insurance company.

    4. Your insurance may reimburse you based on your out-of-network benefits.

    What’s Included on a Superbill?

✔ Your name and date of birth
✔ My name, credentials, and license numbers (WA: LMHC, OR: LPC C8332, ID: MBTCOU-10462)
    ✔ Session dates and duration
✔ The diagnosis code (if applicable)
✔ The billing code for the session
    ✔ The amount you paid

    Will My Insurance Reimburse Me?

That depends on your out-of-network benefits. To check, call your insurance provider and ask:

    • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

    • What percentage of the session cost will be reimbursed?

    • Do I have a deductible that must be met first?

    • How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?

    Important Notes

    • A diagnosis is required for insurance reimbursement. If you don’t want a diagnosis on file, a superbill may not be the best option for you.

    • Reimbursement is not guaranteed—it depends on your insurance plan.

    • I do not submit claims for you, but I’m happy to provide superbills as needed.

  • A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is a document that provides an estimated cost of therapy services before you begin treatment. It is part of the No Surprises Act, which protects clients from unexpected medical bills.

    Who Receives a GFE?

If you are paying out of pocket (not using insurance), you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate before starting services.

    What Does a GFE Include?

Estimated cost of therapy based on session rates
Frequency of sessions (based on your needs and preferences)
Total estimated costs for a 12-month period

Does This Mean I Have to Commit to a Certain Number of Sessions?

No. A GFE is not a contract and does not require you to commit to a specific number of sessions. It is simply an estimate to help you plan financially.

Will the Actual Cost Be Different from the Estimate?

Possibly. Your needs may change over time, and you may attend more or fewer sessions than initially estimated. If there are significant changes, I can provide an updated GFE upon request.

What If My Actual Costs Are Higher Than Estimated?

If the final cost is $400 or more above the estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges through the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.

How Do I Receive My GFE?

I will provide a Good Faith Estimate before your first session and upon request at any time.
